Region 2 Behavioural Healthcare is responsible for the planning, developing, funding, monitoring and evaluating of behavioural health services in Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Grant, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Frontier, Gosper, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow and Thomas counties. This publicly funded behavioural health system includes mental health and substance use prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services provided by a network of providers, supported by federal, state and county dollars. Services and programs include: support and treatment, information, education and access to medical and childcare services for women who are pregnant and/or parenting and are dealing with addiction, comprehensive Community Support services for individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness, and/or diagnosed with an alcohol and/or substance dependency, day rehabilitation and day support programs, Emergency Community Support for individuals recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital unit, emergency mental health or substance abuse crisis intervention, Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid addiction, outpatient mental health and substance abuse counselling, Consumer Specialists who provide leadership and support to assist mental health and substance abuse consumers navigate the systems, youth service coordination, wraparound program for high risk children and young adults with severe emotional disturbance, and special services for consumers with a high rate of inpatient use.
